Libby Library Presents:
“Retrospective of a Maine Artist”
Laura Rothstein, long time resident of Old Orchard Beach and one of a handful of women to graduate from RIT (Rochester Institute of Technology) will be exhibiting a collection of her paintings and sketches at the Old Orchard Beach Public Library (Libby Memorial Library) on Staples Street, Old Orchard Beach, throughout the month of June.
Laura was involved with the Harlow Art Gallery for many years, as an art-educator in the public schools, introducing creative art to young students, and as Acting Art Director at the UMA.
Come and meet the artist on June 2nd at our own Libby Memorial Library from 6:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m. Laura will be happy to show you her works and share with you her experiences as a painter, and educator, as well as her memories of life as a Maine artist over the last fifty years.

2009 SUMMER READING PROGRAM
The Edith Belle Memorial Library located on Staples Street in Old Orchard Beach is announcing its 2009 Summer Reading Program.
The theme of the reading program this year will be “Under the Sea.” How appropriate and it is free and open to children in preschool up through completion of the 6th grade. The registration period is June 2nd through June 20, 2009 and the program starts on Tuesday, June 30, 2009.
In addition there are special activities (stories, crafts, games and more) on Saturdays from 10:30 a.m. to noon. The program will end Saturday, August 15th with a Pizza Party at noon.
